Welcome
We work towards the day when sexuality and gender issues do not affect the way people are perceived and treated. We expect due sympathy and equality in the way that we are policed. We plan to achieve our vision through a number of focussed goals.
Welcome to the online home of Pink Shield (formerly The Birmingham Police Forum for the Gay Community) Our group is run by volunteers from the gay community for the benefit of all within the gay community.

We have developed strong working relationships with the police & venue owners within the gay village, and we are striving to make our streets safer for gay people to use, not just in the city centre but the whole of Birmingham. We are making contacts with friends from around the region to develop our work.

We are really excited with the recent successes in working with the Police and City Council, particularly the installation of a help point right in the centre of Gay Village - providing a means of summoning help quickly if needed.

If you would like to know more about our group, the work we do and our plans for the future, please contact us.

Stay safe,

Angela
Chair of Birmingham Police Forum for the Gay Community.
